We have two family run nurseries situated in Blackburn and Darwen Lancashire which are both overseen by our area manager who joined the Peek A Boo family in April 2016.

Both our nurseries are graded ‘good’ by Ofsted under the new management.

Ofsted highlighted the positive changes to the nursery that had been made since their last inspection.

Latest Ofsted Inspection

The new manager and owner have implemented strong professional development processes for staff since the last inspection. Supervisions procedures are now embedded. They identify areas for developing teaching standards that impact positively on children’s learning.

Staff have high expectations of children. They show a positive regard to the achievements children make and they celebrate these readily. This helps to boost children’s confidence and self-esteem.

Babies and children are happy and secure within the building. They have developed strong bonds with staff, who are caring and attentive to their needs. This contributes to their emotional wellbeing.

Partnership With Parents

Team Peek A Boo is  committed to building strong partnerships with parents by encouraging parents to take part in all aspects of nursery life.

• Parents and carers are invited to monthly stay and play sessions as mentioned above along with regular parent’s evenings and events.

• Our online learning journal system allows parents to contribute at any time to their child’s learning journal along with receiving weekly updates of your child’s development.

• Parents are able to share their ideas and views through the comments box, parental questionnaire and via the parents committee.

Here at Peekaboo Day Care we offer an open doors policy encouraging parents to discuss any ideas, comments or concerns they may have. We pride ourselves on creating a positive relationship with you and your child so you feel welcome and both your needs are met.

How can I be involved in my child’s learning at Peekaboo Day Care?

We encourage all parents to be part of nursery life and encourage a positive partnership from the first day you join our Peekaboo family. During induction we gather a range of information from parents about your child’s needs using an all about me document. Parents will also be shown where they can access a range of nursery information in our reception area. Here we have designated displays boards offering a range of information about the nursery including upcoming events, stay and play sessions, ideas on how to support your child’s learning at home , the weekly menus and much more. Parents are welcome to come and view this information at any time.
